Right after the “we did it” moment, there’s this electric mix of joy, relief, and finally. As guests are finding their seats for the reception and the music’s just starting to build, I love sneaking the couple away for a few seconds, nothing long, just enough to catch their eyes still wide with excitement, hands still laced tight, sometimes laughing, sometimes kissing like no one’s watching. It’s this tiny pocket of time before the celebration kicks off, and there’s something so raw and real about it. Just the two of them, soaking it in, we’re married.

I’ve seen how just stepping away for a few quiet minutes, often around dinnertime, can give a couple space to breathe, reconnect, and soak in the day before the energy picks back up for the evening. Honestly, those in-between moments might be what I look forward to the most.
